Code of Conduct for In-Person and Zoom Classes

At my classes, we are dedicated to creating a positive, inclusive, and inspiring environment where everyone can explore and enjoy music, dance and culture. To ensure this, I ask all students to adhere to the following code of conduct:

Respect & Inclusivity:

  1. Respectful Communication: Treat all instructors, fellow students, and staff with courtesy and respect, regardless of their background, skill level, or opinion. Interjections, debates or arguments along with demeaning or belittling behavior will not be tolerated.
  2. Inclusive Environment: We welcome individuals of all abilities, ages, and backgrounds. Discrimination or harassment of any kind will not be tolerated.
  3. Active Listening: Pay attention when the instructor or others are speaking. Avoid disruptive conversations during instruction.
  4. Personal Space: Be mindful of personal space during dance activities.

Participation & Learning:

  1. Punctuality: Arrive on time for classes, ready to learn.
  2. Preparedness: Come to class with any required materials.
  3. Active Engagement: Participate actively in exercises and activities to the best of your ability.
  4. Openness to Learning: Be open to new ideas, techniques, and constructive feedback from the instructor.
  5. Respect for Equipment & Space: Treat studio equipment, instruments, and the learning space with care. Report any damage to the instructor.

Safety & Well-being:

  1. Physical Well-being: Listen to your body and take breaks when needed, especially during dance. Inform the instructor of any physical limitations or injuries.
  2. Appropriate Attire: Wear comfortable and appropriate clothing and footwear for the class.
  3. Hygiene: Maintain personal hygiene to ensure a pleasant environment for everyone.

Consequences:

Failure to adhere to this Code of Conduct will not be tolerated by any means. A verbal warning, temporary removal from the class, or, in more serious or repeated cases, a permanent ban and dismissal (without refund) will be issued by Salvatore Guglielmo.

We believe that by working together, we can create a thriving and enjoyable learning experience for everyone. Thank you for your cooperation.
